Special Collections
| The Skaneateles Library
Association has hundreds of abridged and unabridged books-on-tape
for adults and children. A continuing gift in honor of the life
of a local woman has made this unabridged books-on-tape collection
impressive for a library in a small village. The library recently
began to acquire books on compact disks. |
| New large print books
are purchased each month. This collection has current and popular
titles which are predominantly fiction and outstanding nonfiction. |
| Skaneateles has many
mystery lovers. Our mysteries are shelved separately from the fiction
collection. These books can be identified by green spine labels.
In our catalog these books have MYS on the third line of their call number. |
| Our Young Adult books
and books-on-tape have been selected generally for youth in 6th
through 9th grades. The reading level may vary, but the content
is appropriate for young adolescents. This collection is shelved
in the main room of the library next to the mystery section. |
| New books are prominently
shelved in the front of the library. All new adult books on these
shelves have been published in the past year. This includes mysteries
and large print books. |
| The video collection
at the Skaneateles Library is divided into an adult and a children's
section. The entire collection is a family-oriented with general
interest videos. Videos are available to all patrons and circulate
for seven days. |
